Countertops & Surfaces

We supply and install quartz, granite, marble, quartzite, and engineered stone countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, kitchen islands, and commercial spaces across Montreal and the surrounding region. Every surface is selected for its durability, its visual fit within the space, and its compatibility with how the client actually uses the room — not just how it looks in a showroom under ideal lighting.
We handle the full process from material selection through to final installation. It begins with a review of your space, your design direction, your cabinetry, and your budget. From there we guide you through material selection, edge profile options, finish choices, and colour decisions that work with every other element in the room.
Our scope covers material sourcing from our supplier network, precise templating of your space, fabrication coordination, delivery, and professional installation including all cutouts for sinks, cooktops, and fixtures. Every seam is planned before fabrication and finished to a clean, consistent standard on site. We also supply and install kitchen and bathroom backsplash surfaces as part of countertop projects where the client wants a cohesive surface package.
Each material has a different performance profile, and the right choice depends on how the space is used.
Quartz is the most popular countertop material for kitchens in Montreal because it is non-porous, does not require sealing, resists staining from wine, coffee, and acidic foods, and is available in a wide range of colours and finishes including options that closely replicate the look of natural marble. It is the most practical choice for high-use kitchens and families with children.
Granite is a natural stone with unique veining and movement in every slab. It is heat-resistant and durable with proper sealing and maintenance. No two granite countertops are identical, which appeals to clients who want the authenticity of natural material. It requires annual sealing to maintain its stain resistance.
Marble and quartzite are the premium end of the natural stone range. Both offer veining and visual depth that engineered materials do not replicate convincingly. Marble requires more maintenance and is more susceptible to etching from acidic substances, making it better suited to low-traffic areas, bathroom vanities, and clients who understand and accept its maintenance requirements. Quartzite is considerably harder and more durable than marble while offering a similar aesthetic.
Engineered stone and large-format porcelain slab are also available and suit specific applications, particularly commercial projects and bathrooms where consistent colour across a large surface area is the priority.
Countertop installation is a precision trade. We take detailed measurements of your space before any fabrication begins, accounting for walls that are not perfectly straight, cabinet depths that vary, and the exact positioning of sink and fixture cutouts. These measurements go directly to the fabrication shop so the finished slab arrives cut precisely to your space. A countertop that is fabricated without proper templating will have gaps, overhangs that vary across the run, and cutouts that do not align with the fixtures — problems that are expensive to correct and entirely avoidable.
The countertop market in Montreal is saturated with suppliers, and the difference between a well-installed countertop and a poorly installed one is not the material — it is the precision of the templating, the quality of the fabrication coordination, and the care taken during installation. We have installed enough countertops across Montreal, Laval, South Shore, and West Island to know every place the process can go wrong, and we manage each one. Our clients are not managing supplier relationships, chasing fabrication lead times, or discovering on installation day that the cutout is in the wrong position.
Most countertop projects take one to two weeks from material confirmation through to installation, depending on fabrication lead times for the selected material. Quartz and engineered stone typically have the shortest lead times. Natural stone with specific slab selection may take longer depending on availability. We confirm lead times before the project is scheduled so they are factored into any broader renovation timeline.

FAQ
For most Montreal kitchens, quartz is the most practical choice. It is non-porous so it does not require annual sealing, resists staining from wine, coffee, tomato sauce, and acidic foods, and holds up to the daily demands of a working kitchen without special care. It is also available in finishes that replicate the look of natural marble convincingly enough that most guests cannot tell the difference. That said, the right material depends on how you use your kitchen, your aesthetic preferences, and your budget. If you want the authenticity and unique veining of natural stone and are comfortable with the maintenance it requires, granite or quartzite can be excellent choices. We walk you through the trade-offs honestly during the consultation so you make the decision that is right for your specific situation.
Most countertop projects move from material confirmation to completed installation in one to two weeks, depending on the fabrication lead time for your chosen material. Quartz and engineered stone typically have the shortest lead times, often five to seven business days from templating to installation. Natural stone with specific slab selection — where you are choosing a particular slab from the yard rather than selecting by sample — can take longer depending on availability and the fabrication shop's current schedule. We confirm lead times at the start of the project so they are built into any broader renovation timeline rather than discovered mid-project.
Yes, always. Templating is a non-negotiable step in our countertop process. We take precise measurements of your space — accounting for walls that are not perfectly plumb, cabinet depths that vary across the run, and the exact positioning of sink and fixture cutouts — before anything goes to the fabrication shop. A countertop fabricated from dimensions taken off a floor plan rather than from a proper template will have gaps, uneven overhangs, and cutouts that do not align. These are not minor cosmetic issues — they are expensive to correct and entirely avoidable. Templating is how we ensure the finished slab fits your space exactly.
Often yes, depending on the material and current slab availability from our supplier network. Natural stones like granite and quartzite have unique slab-to-slab variation, so an exact match to an existing countertop is not always possible if the original slab is no longer available. What we can do is source a material from the same family in a compatible colour and veining pattern that reads as intentional rather than mismatched. For engineered quartz, matching or closely coordinating a new countertop with an existing one is generally more achievable since these products are manufactured to consistent colour standards. We discuss this during the consultation and are honest about what is achievable.
Yes. Sink cutouts, cooktop cutouts, and any other fixture penetrations are part of our standard countertop installation scope. We coordinate the cutout dimensions with your sink or cooktop specifications before fabrication so the fit is precise. For undermount sinks, we also handle the mounting and silicone sealing as part of the installation. If you are supplying your own sink or cooktop, we just need the installation specifications from the manufacturer before the countertop goes to fabrication.
